Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities mentioned they were notified by a man who found a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a statement.

Police report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then located multiple other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; officials are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the community for tips.

A high-ranking official stated the incident rendered him without words and had to be solved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the killing of nine victims by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
