'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith renews battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he remembers the thrilling closing stages of Swansea's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The game wrapped up with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles amid the on-field celebration.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a powerful strike from 25 yards, and his teammate promptly slammed home the rebound before sprinting toward the home end to mark the goal, with supporters mobbing the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory sealed an unbelievable turnaround given the team had found themselves down 2-0 during the latter period. Amid the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a fan shouting out and Josh Key and I were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're individuals, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result earned a next round game at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith pushed hard at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. He had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's first-time shot from about way out going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've given it to him for taking the effort on from that range," commented Galbraith, who began the game centrally before shifting to right wing-back after they changed tactics. That meant getting to grips with the England international, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the player was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way his former team attacked the game.

Guardiola's System

"Physically they are exceptional but even the basics and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they complete every delivery and they are adept at manage and slow down a game. You can believe you're all right and then without warning they will just thread a ball between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be focused every second of the game. It demands a tough attitude and concentration just to remain competitive."

Welsh Transition

Swansea sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a significant move. He established himself as a popular figure across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has swiftly done the same in south Wales. At the London club he joined forces once more with the coach, who four years ago gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at Doncaster from Old Trafford. Then came a spell at lower division the Manchester club, before he permanently left Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was probably a bit naive going into senior level. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without real physicality. You see few physical contests. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

National Team Success

He has shown that maturation for club and country, excelling for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the World Cup next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including home and away fixtures against Germany. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his eye for a game-changing assist.

Humble Beginnings

This represents a remarkable path for the kid from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who used to see his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a central player, play for a local club.

Old Trafford Memory

Galbraith's only game for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they featured on an plastic turf and the venue ceiling was sealed owing to temperatures of freezing cold. "This represented a lengthy journey and it was cold out there," he comments, chuckling. "The week before, several youth players and I trained together, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to travel with the first team and make an appearance at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

How difficult was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged his mid-teens? "It was fairly simple, because I got to the stage where I realized I wasn't going to make it at the top level. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the middle of the day at the club's training ground but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to the local area, the young professional was a regular in Swansea's nicknamed player transport, a small coach driven by team personnel, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from practice and games.

"My companions include the Portuguese player, the Brazilian, Malick Yalcouyé – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has started driving. It's enjoyable to spend time with the teammates but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual to stop using the bus and on the road. Franco is known for his humor; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would mix with followers on public transport after starting his journey at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
